Beaumont Yacht Club

Beaumont Yacht Club, Inc., was founded in 1958 as a non-profit membership club to promote recreation and fellowship among boaters. Throughout its storied history, members and guests from every walk of Southeast Texas life benefited from the Club and contributed to the city for which the Club was named. The location which the Club called home for nearly 60 years was previously the city landfill. With strategic dredging and continuous improvements, the vision of Club members showed the region how cooperation, determination, and resourcefulness could create thriving community. It offered dockside fueling, the best boat ramps in the region, and a venue for parties of all shapes and sizes. The Club was not without its problems, but it overcame them all to serve its purpose well, namely improving the quality of life for members and guests alike. The only hurdle the Club couldn’t clear was the last one – the city sold the marina and substantial club assets to a private investor, despite the Club’s worthy attempt to purchase the property. It is with a sense of redemption that Beaumont Yacht Club uses the last of its assets to establish this scholarship fund. Now the persevering desire of every generation of Club members is perpetually extended to future generations of public servants – helping to make the communities we call home a great place to enjoy life!
