Dr. and Mrs. Robert Krienke

Dr. Robert D. Krienke was the founding president of the Lamar Institute of Technology. During his 12-year tenure he served the Institute from April 4, 1994 until retirement on May 31, 2006. Dr. Krienke launched his career as a research chemist for Tracor. His distinguished career in higher education began in 1968 at Texas State Technical College where he rose to the rank of President in 1977, then Vice Chancellor of Educational Services of the TSTC system in 1989. Dr. Krienke became Dean of Technologies, Sciences and Business at Palo Alto College in San Antonio in 1992. This endowment was established by the Lamar Institute of Technology Foundation Board of Directors in his honor.
