Mr. Scott McCauley

Archie L. McCauley, Jr. was born on December 3, 1927, Beaumont, Texas. Raised in Beaumont, Archie was an outstanding Football and Basketball player at French High School. He earned All-City Honors in both sports and received a Football and Basketball Scholarship to Baylor University in 1945. He played one season of Football and then the United States Military called him. He served in the US Navy and never went back to Baylor. He married his love, Jane, in 1949 and they had three children. Archie went to work at Magnolia Petroleum Company’s Beaumont Refinery in the late-1940’s. He started out in the Barrel House, now the B&P, and worked his way up from assistant operator to “A” Operator to Shift Foreman to Operations Day Supervisor in the area known as “The Complex”. He retired from Mobil Oil Corporation in 1984 with over 37 years of service. Archie worked hard and expected all of his people to work hard and take pride and ownership in their unit.
Archie has been retired for over 32 years (as of this date). He loves his family and they have always been his highest priority. His love, Jane, passed away in 1994. Today, Archie is loved and supported by his three children and their spouses, seven grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
