Mrs. Georgann Raney

The fathers of Georgann and John Raney, John (Buck) Raney and George Malicky, were both born in 1905 living on farms in Texas and Nebraska. Their first mechanical training was repairing farm equipment. Buck left home to work in the Spindletop oil fields where his father worked. George left the farm to play professional baseball including the Beaumont Exporters and then went to work for Gulf Pipe Line Co. Both of their fathers became pipefitters. Both men married talented and hard-working women who fostered good home lives for their children and grandchildren and funded education for college after high school. It is the wish of the Raneys to help men and women at LIT to realize their goals and help their family members to become successful.
