Ms. Leslie Wilson

n 1975 Mrs. Ward gave the College of Health Sciences of Lamar University several million dollars for an endowed scholarship for the degree programs within the college, which were Nursing, Radiology and Dental Hygiene. During the 1980’s Mrs. Ward modified her gift to include Pre-Med students and Psychology students. She agreed on a percentage that each of the majors would receive. Upon her death the airs continued with her wishes and made no changes to the endowment. The only modification they allowed was to allow students in Allied Health (Dental Hygiene and Radiologic Technology) to not be full-time, but they must be currently enrolled within the specific program and taking the required major courses.
