Golden Pass Liquefied Natural Gas terminal in Sabine Pass receives liquefied natural gas from Qatar, warming the natural gas from its chilly minus 260 degrees Fahrenheit and sending it through pipelines. At this very cold 260 degree temperature, the gas becomes a liquid, occupying about 600 times less space. This allows the liquefied natural gas to be pumped into specially designed ships and transported to terminals where it is converted back into natural gas and fed into pipelines that serve industrial, commercial and residential markets. Liquefied Natural Gas in its the liquid form is the same clean and safe natural gas people use in their homes for heating, cooling and cooking.
