Marcus Cooper Scholarship Endowment

Marcus Cooper earned a GED at 19 and pursued an education at Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) in 1997. After overcoming personal challenges, he graduated from LIT in 2002 at age 27 and became motivated to become an electrical engineer. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Lamar University (LU) in 2009 with a 3.79 GPA, also minoring in mathematics.

Marcus is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu, and is actively involved with the National Society of Black Engineers. Currently, he serves as the chairman of the commercial electrical technology program at LIT and tutors AC/DC motor controls, while also participating in the engineering and instrumentation advisory board committees.
